learning

A few things I have learned (or re-learned) over the past week:
1-Four kids is WAY more than three!
2-It can be dangerous to change a baby boy's diaper
3-newborns can sleep through anything except the night
4-Grandparents are the BEST EVER!
5-diapers are expensive
6-housework can (and will) wait
7-I live in a neighborhood full of ANGELS
8-hospital food is so gross
9-babies need a lot of "stuff"
10-Daddies really are SUPER HEROS!

feelin' the love

Charlie's siblings came home from Grandma's house yesterday morning (THANK YOU GRANDMA!) and since then Charlie has had all the love and attention one baby can handle. They adore him. Emilie wants to hold him every second and can't get over how soft he is ("even softer than Lydie!"). Eric has lots of questions and Lydie wishes his belly button would get better. We definitely have some adjusting to do around here, but this sweet baby is totally worth it!

The wait is over...

Our sweet, perfect little Charles Angelo was born Tuesday evening. He weighed 7 pounds 15 ounces and was 21 inches long. He is completely adorable and healthy. I had a few post-delivery complications, but I'm on the mend now. I am so grateful for the many miracles we have seen over these past few days, especially our little Charlie.

Bring it on...

Even if I don't get everything crossed off my list before Charlie joins us on Tuesday, at least my toes are ready! My talented sister came over the other night and treated me to this adorable pre-baby pedicure. Thanks Linds!

p.s. for those of you giving me a hard time about not posting pictures of myself, these puffy feet are as close as it's going to get! :)

It's the month that brought us our sweet, silly, happy, dramatic, energetic, loveable, fire-cracker-of-a-girl Lydie Josephine. We adore our Lydie Jo! More birthday pics to come.

4, 14, 24

Being an LDS, French-American couple has it's perks. Especially in July when we get to celebrate every 10 days (Independence Day, Bastille Day, and Pioneer Day)! Today is Bastille Day. Similar to Independence Day it's a day when the people of France toppled their monarchy and gained control of their government. Hooray for Bastille Day!

I can't avoid it now

You may or may not have noticed that I did not put a "countdown to baby" gadget on our blog nor have I said too much about how much time is left. I've learned that these 9 months take long enough without thinking about it every second. I know that I am the type of person who would go crazy knowing that I still have 175 days to be pregnant. Thus, I chose to avoid the countdowns. But not now. I cannot avoid it now. I have 2 weeks and I am totally counting down. It's the only way I'm going to survive the near 100 degree weather and the uncomfortable nights. So, here we go...let the countdown begin! 14 DAYS! YIPPEE!
