learning

A few things I have learned (or re-learned) over the past week:
1-Four kids is WAY more than three!
2-It can be dangerous to change a baby boy's diaper
3-newborns can sleep through anything except the night
4-Grandparents are the BEST EVER!
5-diapers are expensive
6-housework can (and will) wait
7-I live in a neighborhood full of ANGELS
8-hospital food is so gross
9-babies need a lot of "stuff"
10-Daddies really are SUPER HEROS!

It's amazing all the new things you learn even when you've had three kids! Thank goodness for neighbors! They really are angels and yes the hospital food is gross!!!!

Amie, he is the cutest thing EVER!!! I can't get over his darling face--he totally belongs to your family. I can really see the resemblance. I love the second post picture you took of him. So sweet. And I also love all the pictures with the siblings. You're lucky it's not RSV season or even flu, because my poor kids get the "don't touch the baby" from the get-go.

As for the "4 kids is WAY more than 3," that really scares me. I really think it's just having a newborn that's so tough. I felt it at 2, then at 3, and I'm sure even more at 4. But this too will pass. Newborns do need lots of stuff and are very demanding, but he's so sweet. I called you right after Roland brought you home from the hospital, but you were sleeping. (which is right where you should have been) I told Roland to let you know that I can help with ANYTHING you need. If you need me to watch your other kiddos, want to send them away for a day to swim, need a meal, or just need to talk, please let me know. I'd be happy to come to your house and pick them up any day. Good luck in the days and weeks ahead. I hope you can find more time to sleep. :)

I agree that housework can (and will) wait, but it definitely gets bigger and worse if I wait too long - yet, I STILL (even with a 3 year old) need to take that advice! :) Anyway, I have meant to comment earlier on how darling Charlie is. The pictures of your children holding him are so cute and beautiful. I'm sure they are so thrilled to wake up to him and hold him throughout the day, and I'm sure you and your husband feel that way too!! What a sweet addition! Congratulations!!

What a cute little boy, and seriously- diapers are outrageously priced!! Here's hoping you can potty train him by 9 months!!!

Such a sweet baby boy! So excited to meet him :) It is amazing how newborns make life slow down...isn't that what we all need?
