Finally! Finallement !

It's official. After 5 1/2 years of changing diapers without a break, I now have no children in diapers. Lydie is potty trained and I can hardly believe it! I am a free woman. Yeeeehooo!
p.s. I just love little bums in panties. Doesn't she look cute in her big-girl panties and undershirt?:)
C'est officiel. Après 5 1/2 ans de couches a changer sans aucune coupure, je n'ai aucun enfant maintenant dans les couches. Lydie est entraîné a aller au pot et je peux pas en croire mes yeux ! Je suis une femme libre. Yeeeehooo !
P.S. J'aime juste les petites fesses dans la culotte. Est ce qu'elle n'a pas l'air mignonne dans sa culotte de grand-fille et son maillot de corps :) ?

motivation

There is nothing like a child to motivate you to be better. I know I have felt the desire to be better because of my children many times, but none have been quite like the conversation I had with Emilie the other day. I was putting some clothes away and one of my skirts was on the bed. She picked it up and held it in front of her.

Emilie: This is a pretty big skirt mommy
Mommy: I know Emilie.
Emilie: Why is it so big? Is it yours?
Mommy: Yep, it's mine, can I have it now so I can put it away? (and so that you'll stop talking to me about how big it is)

Needless to say, that was some powerful motivation! I will hopefully be taking that "big" skirt to the DI someday in the future. :)

just the two of us...

This past weekend Roland and I went on 2 real dates. I know, it's hard to believe, but it's true. On Friday, we were able to attend the "Tanner Gift of Music" concert. Roland's company sponsors it every couple of years and it brings the Utah Symphony and Tabernacle choir together in the Conference Center with some other invited guest artists. It is free to the public and OC Tanner employees are given the best seats in the house. Our friends, the Shawcrofts were able to get tickets as well so we doubled and went to dinner before the concert too. The whole evening was so relaxing and enjoyable (can't beat the tabernacle choir and symphony!)

And, on Saturday we were invited to go to the AWESOME BYU vs Wyoming smack-down game. GO COUGS! It was a great weekend and we are so grateful to my two sweet sisters for taking such great care of the kids and making it all possible! THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!

Soccer Star - Star du foot

Okay so I remembered to take my camera to Eric's game yesterday. The coach was not able to be there so Roland and our friend Nate coached the game. Eric thought it was so awesome to have his Dad out there with him. Roland has new respect for the coach. You'll notice in the pictures that Eric takes soccer very seriously. :) At least he has a great time!
Et oui, je me suis souvenu de prendre mon appareil photo au match d'Eric hier. L'entraîneur ne pouvait être present alors Roland et notre ami Nate a été l'entraîneur du match. Eric etait tres content d'avoir son Papa sur le terrain avec lui. Roland a gagné un nouveau respect pour l'entraîneur. Vous remarquerez dans les images qu'Eric prend le football très sérieusement. :) Au moins il passe du bon temps !

pencils and paper

This week Eric started getting homework. It's a folder with assignments that he is to work on during the week and return on Friday. So, every day we've had homework time at our house. Emilie and Lydie can't be left out so I give them each their own "assignment". It's pretty cute.
p.s. those last two shots are for Kimber-the humble classroom. Yes, that is cardboard that we used to make walls, but the kids think it's great and it serves it's purpose quite well.
Cette semaine Eric a commencé à avoir des devoirs. C'est un dossier avec des devoirs qu'il doit faire durant la semaine et doit les rendre le vendredi. Alors, chez nous, tous les jours nous prenons le temps pour les devoirs. Emilie et Lydie veulent aussi travailler alors je leur donne chaque leur propre « tâche ». C'est tres mignon. P.S. Les deux derniere photos vous montre la classe que nous avons mis en place dans notre sous-sol.

Round Two

Emilie started preschool today. It seems weird that I'm doing this all over again (and will a time or two more before I'm through). We are doing a neighborhood preschool again in our little basement classroom. Emilie is totally ready for this and loved every minute today. We love our Emilie.
Emilie a commencé aujourd'hui son année préscolaire. Cela semble bizarre que je fais ceci encore une fois ( et le fera un fois ou deux de plus ). Nous faisons a nouveau une école maternelle de voisinage dans notre petite salle de classe au sous-sol de la maison. Emilie est totalement prête pour cette classe et a aimé chaque minute de son premier jour aujourd'hui. Nous aimons notre Emilie.

Behold Your Little Ones

I am in love with the new nursery manual that the church published. You can find it online or at the distribution center. We used it tonight for FHE. It is absolutely perfect for families with young children. Not too long, very simple message, lots of optional activity ideas. Our first lesson was a smashing success and I can't wait for the rest! If you have a young family, I would highly recommend it!
J'aime beaucoup le nouveau manuel de garderie que l'église a publié. Vous pouvez le trouver en ligne ou au centre de distribution. Nous l'avons utilisé ce soir pour la soirée familiale. C'est absolument parfait pour les familles avec des jeunes enfants. Ce n'est pas trop long, le message est très simple, avec beaucoup d'idées d'activité facultatives. Notre première leçon était un succès écrasant et nous sommes impatiant pour la suite ! Si vous avez une jeune famille, je le recommanderais extrêmement !

soccer mom

I am officially a "soccer mom". It's a title I never really cared to have, but can't really avoid. Eric is loving it and we've had a great time watching him play.
p.s. I'll try to post some action shots before his season is over (if I can remember to take my camera to a game):)
Je suis officiellement une « maman football ». C'est un titre que je n'ai jamais vraimant aimé avoir , mais je ne peut pas l'éviter. Eric aime le foot et nous passons de bon moment a le regarder jouer. P.S. J'essaierai de poster quelques photos instantanés des match avant que sa saison se termine (si je peux me souvenir de prendre mon appareil photo au matchs) :)

This morning, in spite of severe weather warnings and grey skies, my husband and 2 of our neighbors made the brilliant decision to take a bike ride all the way to the Draper temple. They went through Suncrest and were at the top of the mountain when the storm really kicked up. They made it down, but then had to call their wives for a rescue mission. Thanks to Kim and Shay for making the rescue!
p.s. The guys all said it was a great ride!:)
Ce matin, malgré les avertissements météorologiques sévères et malgré les cieux gris, mon mari et 2 de nos voisins ont fait la décision brillante de prendre leur vélo et d'aller au nouveau temple de Draper. Ils ont traversé la montagne Suncrest et étaient en haut de la montagne quand l'orage a vraiment commencé a frapper dur. Ils ont reussi a redescendre sous la tempete, mais ensuite ils ont dû faire appel a leurs femmes pour une mission de secours. Grâce à Kim et grâce à Shay pour le secours ! P.S Les hommes ont tout de meme dit c'était un tres bon voyage en vélo :) !
