I'm it...

I've been trying to avoid this whole tag thing, but it's finally happened. I've been tagged. I am supposed to list 6 quirky things about myself. Here we go:

1. I love long, hot showers (I hope we can still be friends, Brittney). If it wasn't expensive, wasteful and time was no issue, I would take 30 mintue showers daily (without interuptions!). As it is, I'm lucky to squeeze one in at all!
2. I adore children's books (both picture and chapter kinds). I started to collect them when I was in high school and made Roland listen to me read them before we had kids.
3. I cannot stand the color PURPLE! (I'm trying to keep this a secret from my kids so that I won't taint them!):)
4. I have a hard time eating broccoli, especially if it's cooked
5. I love to put things together. Like when the kids get a toy that has "assembly required" I love to open the manual and figure it out. Ikea furniture is my favorite!
6. I use my food-processor 1-3 times every day-love it!

Last night was our ward Halloween Party...It took about an hour to convince Roland to put his costume on, but it was worth it.

takin it easy - Weekend tranquille

This past weekend was "fall break" at school and I amazingly convinced Roland to take Friday and Monday (I know, 2 whole days-it's a record!) off from work. We got some projects done at home, had a great little Saturday afternoon date (thanks to the Whiteheads!) and spent Monday playing with the kids. It was much-needed and not long enough!
Ce weekend passé était « la coupure d'automne » à l'école et j'ai pu convaincre Roland de prendre vendredi et lundi (je sais, 2 jours entier, c'est un record) ! de vacances. Nous avons terminé quelques projets à la maisoin, avons eu un moment ensemble l'après-midi du samedi (grâce au Whiteheads) ! et avons jouer le lundi avec les enfants. Nous avions besoin de ce repos-eu mais c'était trop court !





p.s. I had camera issues at the park. I actually took a few more really cute pictures, but they are stuck on my camera at the moment! Oh well. :)
P.S J'ai eu les problèmes d'appareil photo au parc. J'ai pris quelques-uns images vraiment plus mignonnes, mais elles sont coincés sur mon appareil photo actuellement ! Oh bien. :)

Lydie Jo

I know, I just barely posted like a million pictures, but I couldn't resist adding this one. My sister stayed over last night and brought her new, very nice curling iron. Lydie held very still (quite out-of-character for her) and she loved her "curlied" hair when it was done! We love our Lydie Jo!
Je sais, je viens juste de poster un million d'images, mais je ne pouvais pas résister d'ajouter celle-ci. Ma soeur est restée chez nous hier soir et a amené son nouveau fer à friser. Lydie est resté bien sage (tout à fait hors-de-le caractère pour elle) et elle a aimé ses cheveux de « frisés » quand c'était terminé ! Nous aimons notre Lydie Jo !

Couldn't Pick Just One!

The other day I was going through some of our winter clothes to see what would still fit the kids. I had made a pile of things to put away in Emilie and Lydie's bedroom. I guess Emilie couldn't resist trying some of them on. Notice the footed jammies under the gold skirt and lovely striped sweater. Before scolding her for messing up my pile I couldn't resist taking a picture of my silly girl.

The other evening I was catching up on some laundry while Roland worked on church stuff. I had a FULL load of lights and whites in the dryer. I went to pull it out only to discover that one of my very darling children had snuck a BLUE CRAYON in one of their pockets which had now gone through the HOT dryer! I was beside myself. Every last thing had blue all over it! I hurried and googled how to get it out. I'm not holding out much hope, but I am trying a few options. If anyone has any experience with this, feel free to help me out. In the meantime pray for my children so that I don't hurt one of them! :)
L'autre soir, je faisais la lessive pendant que Roland travaillait sur des chose de l'église. J'ai remplis le sèche linge avec des vêtements clairs et les blancs. Je suis allé alors retirer les vêtement seulement pour découvrir qu'un de mes enfants très chéris avait caché un CRAYON BLEUE (fait de cire) dans une de leurs poches qui venait maintenant d'avoir été au CHAUD dans le sèche linge ! J'étais terrifiée. Tous les vêtements avaient du bleu partout ! Je me suis dépêché et j'ai recherché comment nettoyer le bleu. Je n'ai pas beaucoup d'espoir, mais j'essaie quelques options. Si n'importe qui a eu une expérience avec ceci, vous pouvez m'aider. Entre temps prier pour mes enfants pour que je ne les blesse pas ! :) car je suis très déçue !

come listen to a prophet's voice...

As conference weekend comes to a close I just had to share how grateful I am to have had the sweet conference spirit in our home. The kids have been relatively good and attentive (emphasis on relatively), and I have been amazed by how much of it they actually listen to. I know they listen because of their questions ("what's 'joy' mom?", "what does 'trust' mean?", "why do all those ladies have the same dress?" (refering to the choir) and many like them.). We have been reminded of the reality of a living prophet and have learned so much from his words as well as those of the other general authorities.
Alors que le weekend de la conférence se termine je voulais partager le fait que je suis reconnaissante d'avoir eu l'esprit de conférence dans notre maison. Les enfants ont été relativement bons et attentifs (l'accent sur relativement), et en fait, j'ai été stupéfié par combien de temps ils ont passés a écouter. Je sais qu'ils écoutent à cause de leurs questions (« Maman, que veux dire le mot joie ? », « Que veut dire le mot confiance ? », « pourquoi toutes ces dames ont les même robe ? » ( Référant au choeur du tabernacle ) et beaucoup les aiment.). Nous avons été rappelés de la réalité d'un prophète vivant et avons appris tellement de choses grace a ses mots de même que ceux des autres autorités générales.

We love the fire station! Nous aimons la Caserne des Pompiers !

Today for a preschool field trip we went to the Lehi Fire Station. We went in the afternoon so that our kindergarten siblings could join us. They all had a great time and learned some good things about fire safety.
Aujourd'hui, durant les études préscolaires nous sommes allés à la Caserne des Pompiers de Lehi. Nous y sommes allé l'après-midi pour que nos frères et soeurs de la maeternelle puissent nous joindre. Ils ont passé un bon moment et ont appris quelques bonnes choses a propos de la sécurité avec le feu.
