Emilie Sue

Our sweet little Emilie Sue turned 4 today. We had such a fun day. Here are a few of the highlights:
  • waking up to a pink "birthday door" (streamers)
  • chocolate chip pancakes on the "You are special today" plate
  • going to the Primary Program practice with Eric and all her friends
  • decorating her own cake (with Daddy)
  • spending the afternoon with Grandma and mommy doing "girls only" things like shopping at Ikea and getting her nails painted
  • eating her favorite dinner of spaghetti
  • sharing her birthday celebration with Grandpa
  • opening presents (and playing with them!)

4 things we love about Emilie:

  1. Her dimple when she smiles
  2. The concern she shows for others (especially her siblings)
  3. The way she sings while she colors
  4. Her love of healthy eating

Those pictures are really cute. Surprisingly, they made me a little sad, not having any kids. Usually I just get bored looking at other peoples' kids' pictures, but these had me feeling like I was missing out. Emilie is a cutie pie. I was surprised at my reaction, also, since I've always just wanted boys. Maybe I could handle a little bit of princess cr... I mean stuff.

She is so cute. I absolutely love your special plate. I need to get one of those. Birthdays are so fun for kids. Too bad we don't usually enjoy them so much as adults :)

I love that she sings while she colors, and I also love her dimple when she smiles. What a sweet little girl. She's a little mother already. We need to get together--looks like it may be Christmas now when Tiff gets here, now that Thanksgiving is only a week away. That's crazy!

Happy Birthday to Emilie. She sounds like a pretty great girl to have in the family.

(side note, "Joseph" in your picture is also my father in law, he posed for that picture in the late 70's)

Happy Birthday Emilie! We sure loved your pink cupcakes and your favorite story at preschool the other day. Finley ate several remains of the cupcakes that the other kids had thrown in the garbage. They were so good she couldn't even tell they were leftovers!
